The Beauty Bar  in Las Vegas threw a FREE show Monday night and it was loaded with 3 killer bands, KISSING CANDICE, MASTIV, and RUST REBELLION. Opening the show was Vegas local band RUST REBELLION, a solid band with a mad max type of look. These guys have really been tearing up the local Vegas stages these past couple of months and always deliver a killer show!

Next was another local band with the most imposing frontman currently playing Vegas today... MASTIV is fronted by the friendly giant Steve Thiriot who not only sings but plays keys. Tonight guitarist Madzilla mentioned he lost his teacher that day to a heart attack, and dedicated the licks he learned to him, The rest of the band is made up of James Hoover on drums, and on rhythm guitar  Dane Haws,  and on bass it was Nikki Rangel. I dare you to stand still while this band plays! They play a punishing beat that makes even the most hardened wallflower bang their head and stomp their feet. At times Steve goes into what could best be described as almost spoken word while the band pounds out an impressive beat. Mastiv is one of my favorite bands currently playing Vegas and can be seen at many local venues near you.

KISSING CANDICE hail all the way from Long Island, NY, and have a sound that  is metal, hardcore, industrial and just plain badass. This is my kind of band - a horror themed band with punishing songs, dark and very frightful looking onstage. Kissing Candice is a band that baffles me as to why they are not HUGE, this band is the total package, and they remind me alot of the great local band d.I.M. Kissing Candice's stage show includes tons of smoke, with twisting and twirling lights flashing out through the heavily fogged stage. Frontman Joey Simpson wears the creepiest old man looking masks with bloody clothing, and he is an amazing frontman who did his best to work the small crowd who did turn out on a chilly Monday night at the Beauty Bar. Smaller crowd or not the band delivered their usual shock and awe type of show and gave those who did come out something to remember. Well....Many of you know I have been sharing news about a Mythical 2nd Mastiv album dating back to 2012. While every intention was good, plans fell through for one reason or another. I actually have about 7 pre-production tracks from 2012 that never got completed for one reason or another, maybe someday they will see the light of day, alas I digress.

2018 will be different, Mastiv is back! We have spent most of 2017 working on new material for your mind to consume. (Some of you have heard and enjoyed these songs at The Beauty Bar This Past Saturday November 4th.)

Founding member Chris Whitney has been apart of the writing process all the way out in Connecticut. It has been fun writing with Chris again, we have about 5 songs completed and working on more everyday.

We are calling the album "TRANSCENDENCE". The Death of Founding member Lance (twinlyss) Isbell inspired this title, His death has affected me in ways I can't describe, I think about him and miss him everyday. It has been very therapeutic for me to work on this album.

We are planning on releasing "TRANSCENDENCE" sometime in 2018

We know many of you can't wait, So...The Media player, has been updated with a track called "Original" and "Prelude to Transcendence" with clips of the songs we are working on.

Many exciting things are in store, check back often for news and updates.

We are Proud to Announce, and Welcome our New Guitar Player Madzilla to the Mastiv Family! He is hard at work learning the classics you love as well as Writing new Material! We will be playing out again in the Fall! See you soon!

It's Been a Long Time!

It has been a long time!!! Last year plans were in the works to revive MASTIV with all original members. Sadly, Lance Isbell (twinlyss) my friend and drummer passed away in July of 2015. Lance had his challenges, but he was a good person, and a good friend. Watching him play was an honor every time we took the stage, he had an amazing talent. I miss him very much.

Things have changed so much since we last played. Guitar player Chris Whitney is Moving to Connecticut at the beginning of the year to pursue a great career opportunity, Bass Player Chris Meyer is busy with life and other important obligations. Guitar Player Jonathan Rojas moved to Utah and is busy with his career and family.

Which leaves me. I have a great deal of passion for MASTIV.
I love the music, and what it represents. It is in that spirit that I move the band Forward.

I have recruited long time friend James Hoover to Play Drums, and have met a dedicated Bass player Named Nikki Rangel on Bass.

We are currently working on new material, and learning the songs you love.

We will keep you updated on everything going on, and look forward to seeing you at shows early summer 2017

Thank you for your Support!
